Symptoms
If you create a unit with the same name as a virtual directory that exists in your site ex. "cs" documents in this unit will be created but not viewable.
Content Studio cannot detect this conflict and will create the unit and its file in the file system without warning.
Cause
This is due to a conflict between the virtual site and the unit with the same name in Content Studio. IIS handles this conflict by giving the virtual site the higher priority.
Resolution
You cannot name a unit the same as a virtual site. Create a new unit with a proper name and move all the content to the new unit. Finally delete all document and categories in the unit before deleting the unit itself.
Status
This behaviour is by design.
